A bit about my work for Edinburgh East
I try to get back to Edinburgh by Thursday night so you’ll find me in the office or at meetings around the constituency on Fridays and over the weekend.
I am lucky to have a huge number of brilliant local organisations in my patch who I visit as often as possible.
As an MP one of the most rewarding parts of the job is working with the many amazing communities across Edinburgh East, supporting local campaigns, and meeting people in organisations, community groups, businesses, social services and agencies who work within the constituency.
I aim to be approachable and accessible to constituents so that I get a feel for what’s going on and what the issues are, and to ensure people feel they can come to me about anything I might be able to help with.
I hold regular advice surgeries and do as much as I can to link in and make sure we are working effectively with all the local advice services who operate in Edinburgh East.
